this is the day

this is the day
with crimson scarlet crushed flowers
growing out of righteous lips

this is the day
when sunsets bloom
and people rise up renewed from
the tombs

this is the day
of rejoicing, when dancing has a call
across the world

this is the day
when song rises up like incense
and we pray thanks for
freedom and drink
righteous wine
