Plagued

Plagued

A Poem by La'-Asia

A Plague Upon The Nation There Is
An overshadow of darkness
Killing everything in its path
Stealing souls
Tampering with happiness
Avoiding such a plague has become inevitable
In the pits of a nightmare we stand
Putting friend against friend
Brother against sister
Mother against child
No one can escape
It is too strong
Striking suddenly
Decomposing the inner you
Painting colorless worlds
Creating angels with broken wings
When will this plague be lifted
And life become liveable
Something strived to be lived
instead of to end
Yet
The end is nowhere in sight . . .
