I hate social mediaA Poem by Itumeleng Molokomme
I hate social media.
They steal away from creativity Have you ever felt the intimacy of a well written later Felt the connection from a simple phone call Bringing that loved one within reach But we are consumed in meaningless back and forth messaging that are dry of emotion No tone but a simple emoticon to try wrap all your feelings One word answers that kill the spirit of communication Communication has become so easy yet so difficult Our tongues cut off, fingers glues to the keypads and touch screens Around the dinner table our heads bowed We are not saying grace but instagraming our meals Facebook has become a daily personal journal We can no longer celebrate life without tweeting We have become preys of our own creations I hate social media © 2014 Itumeleng Molokomme |
