winter blues

winter blues

A Poem by Itumeleng Molokomme
"

it's winter in South Africa. need I say more.

"
As winter kicks in we claim to go prepared
Yet we still hold on to that shred of a long gone summer.
What happened to the Sun?
We ask as we chase it around the yard.
The cold has no mercy
It slips in through that tiny crack in my blankets early in the morning.
Goodbye sleep see you later during the day.
Still tired like you only took a nap... a twelve hour nap.
It has only begun
Soon the sun and I will be playing hide and seek
And in this game of freeze tag
Unfortunately I will never get to be 'it'
