You say I'm crazy sometimes
Well here's a crazy idea Let's put our love on a timer Mmh... I know you probably wondering what's gotten into me this time Well Its the feeling that makes me like your cold hands on my back The one that shortens my breath Did I ever tell you how my heart beats funny whenever I look you straight in the eye Like it's as mesmerized as I am Confused and dazed I lie awake at night thinking of when our youth has left us I imagine Swinging beside you beneath a tree Listening to melodies of laughter and voices from generations we have created I hope you'll pull me from that swing so we can let the children within run free And when dusk falls and the rooms clear When our house is full of only our thoughts I hope you'll sit down below my chair and rub my aching feet Then I'll remind you of the first time you did that The first time we met And when I first said 'thank you' And you'll probably say ' Babe I really don't know why I have such a short memory' forgetting it's been decades Speaking of decades if you wish I'll ask God to grant me that wish I made on our first shooting star And I'll collect every last grain of sand from each shoreline and fill a giant hour glass jus to help you keep track Now my crazy idea don't seem crazy anymore So let's put our love on a timer To see how long forever is © 2014 Itumeleng Molokomme |
