no foothold

no foothold

A Poem by Ashly Christen
"

you have no power here

"

I wont let you drown me out

I will not let you fill my lungs with your putrid bile

I will not breathe

yet I will not suffocate

because my power comes from a place much stronger than you

I will not let you have me

I have overcome

I will do it again and again

I refuse to give in to your negativity

you surround me with black energy

I will blind you with my light

you cry and whine and I will not hear it

I will not give in and succumb to your silly pleas

you are pathetic and I will not be the same

I will not let you have power over me

for I am stronger

I am worth more than you think

I may bend

but I will not break

You've proven your point majestically, with multiple examples to support your predicament as well. Though somewhat disheveled, the thoughts center around one another as a ferris wheel would; with a connection despite obvious visual deceptions. Well done.

Truly enlightening. It directs a very strong message that can really uplift a broken spirit. Reading your words made me look over certain things in my life and I was delighted to read this.

Your welcome.
the strength you speak of is wonderful, and the words you use to exemplify it are astoundingly resonant and poignant, this is a powerful and prolific piece of prose. very nicely executed and well thought out. i admire the courage and dedication it took to write this piece with such conviction. your beliefs are insurmountable and solid.
