Dear Sweet Child -Uncomplete-

Dear Sweet Child -Uncomplete-

A Poem by DecemberXSunset
"

This is a poem about a little girl that I was a mentor for, some school program. In the end, I'm glad I was in that program.

"

Dear sweet child,

Eyes so wide and bright,

Is it only me who can see through to your fright?

Your small hand,

clenching onto mine; there where we both stand.

Sad thoughts come and they go,

I watch you; your eyes move to and fro.

Dear sweet child,

What has been done,

do your spirits not lift when you see the rising sun?

Innocence still remains,

tarnished; the events have still left you sane.

Seldom, the words cross your lips,
you speak of one who does no longer exist.

Dear sweet child,

I’d like to make you mine,
to replace a mother that no one can find.

Your words are soft; you speak so slow,
still you remain, through your struggle you will grow.

Heaven, the place you’ve heard most about,
where your mother has gone; everyone says without a doubt.

No... I'm not completely finished with this poem yet...
I wanted to post it to see what people think of it so far.
I know I don't want to end it this way, I need to keep writing.. But I don't know how I want to end it yet.
