You don't know me

You don't know me

A Poem by Ashley Armstrong
"

Just something I wrote when I was mad at my Mom

"
Don't talk to me
Don't look at me
I don't want to hear your voice
Or see that look in your eyes
You're looking at me like I've done something wrong
When all I'm doing is what you've taught me to do
You yell at me when I say something wrong
I'm just saying what I've been taught to say
I'm following life's rules
But I'm treated like a criminal
How am I supposed to say I learned it from you?
I act like something I'm not
So I can fit in
Like a mindless zombie
 I want to be myself
In a world that doesn't accept me
 For who I am
 You don't know me
