Hell

Hell

A Poem by Ashley Ree
"

this is the life she lives

"

As she weeps at home,

She wonders if she’s all alone.

Begs for mommy to stop crying.

Screams at God, in hopes of dying.

This is Hell, where she lives.

Beatings are the only thing - daddy gives.

She lies in bed but cannot sleep.

The pain she suffers cuts so deep.

She crawls under the sheet to hide,

But remembers that’s how baby brother died.

Crumbs are scattered on the floor.

She doesn’t dare ask daddy for more.

This is Hell, because he deprives.

There is no way she survives.

Her body lies slump in the corner.

Daddy is by no means a mourner.

Mommy shakes her to wake her from slumber,

But she had already taken her number.

This isn’t Hell anymore.

She is now a part of the Earth’s décor.

Body buried six feet under.

In hopes of not being torn asunder.

so, coming from an abusive/drug infested family, this poem hits home. it's kind of creepy, but what those fuckers do to people is also creepy. i hope this didn't/doesn't actually happen to you, but if it did know that you have a nice little gift because of it. broken people always save the world.
gooooooot job :)

Good writing to describe such a tragedy. If only women would leave those devil men before such tragic things would happen! A poem like this would be good at a domestic violence website. Sometimes battered women need to wake up by seeing some writing such as yours. Take care. Sincerely, Muriel

Strong emotion. This is a sad poem about an unfortunate situation and you've put your pen to it. Made me more aware.

Coming from a kid who lost his sister to a situation like this, i have to give you a 100 because you had the courage to write about it.

This is so dark. But it's amazing. You give vivid descriptions.

So... I'm 18. Which is awesome. Not that it is that big of a landmark, but it's another birthday. I started this account about two months ago, maybe longer, and at that time I said I didn't write that.. more..
