time out.

time out.

A Poem by darkness*star1985

I was young

I was foolish

wasn't thinking

made my mistakes

all on the table

spinning out of control

faster and faster

life never slows

unbreakable chains

keep me from screaming

lock doors

keep me from moving

anchor to the ground

keeps me from kicking

no matter what is done

you won't have me torn down

my spirit is just too strong

the wars between dark and light

will go on forever

all inside my mind

like a mirror, I see two

unstoppable forces

I need a timeout.

Deep my friend, we have that two sides of ourselves always at war, sometimes we need to have time away from it.

Intense.
Yes, the struggle goes on--not just in your mind, d, but all about us. Good and Evil locked in a death-grip. While I believe forces of The Light will ultimately win, there will be casualties.
Your poem takes an eternal, monumental struggle, narrows it down, and chronicles its effects on a single human being.
And you've done that well.

That is a war that never ends, a battle started at birth when we learned about right and wrong, bad and good, and so on. Part of us wants to do for us while the other part feels about doing it. A never ending circle. Enjoyed the read.

When I was young. We didn't have time-outs. Just a knock on the head and a beating for being wild and crazy.
"unbreakable chains

keeps me from kicking"
A outstanding poem. I like it all. Thank you.
