on the edge

on the edge

A Poem by Ashley H

of velvet seats

on the edge of a bed that belongs to itself

i depict every line with brittle eyes

sticky hooks stretched out in front

encircled by night, encircled by luminescence

reverberations against the broody army

deafening

we didnt even try to apprehend

the words in our mind dance with the earth in the hollow cheeked streaks of light

casting back into space

everything is eclipsed
