Power

Power

A Poem by Ashleyy
"

Lies, Betrayal, Guilt, Deaths and Pain- Power. The Beginning of the End.

Power

Power is the key to changes in you

Others start to notice that you defy

I never thought it would be you, but who knew?

And others can’t trust because you imply

You stand deserted and mostly alone

And no one wants you for your selfless ways

This is the outcome and you must have known

Must deal with others and their betrays

You must be comforted with what is yours

Because soon you will be empty handed

You must listen to God and his implores

If you do well your heart will be mended

The past doesn’t exist, just you and now

Power will never control, it’s a vow

I like the implications of strength in this, in blazing forward and leaving the naysayers and hangers on to the wayside, forging a path with power...

This is an excellent poem. The rhyming is top-notch and the message is comprehensive. It was short and to the point, I like that. I enjoyed reading this piece, thanks.

I like the inner struggle in this piece. Life is unfair at times, but maybe we can change things.

Wow, I really liked this. The flow was great.

"The past doesn't exist, just you and now
Power will never control, it's a vow."

Enjoyed, and loved, the ending a lot! Great job.

Chloe.
