The Lesser Arts

The Lesser Arts

A Poem by ashleydawn

As a needy, never satisfied artist
I've begun to experiment
with the lesser arts.
Sculpting views with a lens,
capturing events on a hand drawn page,
playfully plucking at strings.

and while this all
surely provides enjoyment
to those around,
it instills fear into my body
that,
I'll lose you.
This art that I've grown
to love and that is
simply attached as
part of me.

I fear I'll let you go
in the bustle.

This is lovely. Your first stanza is brilliant, contrasting arts to describe other arts. Your feelings come through clearly as well. Enjoyed this.
