Please Stay Downstairs

Please Stay Downstairs

A Poem by ashleydawn

I hear the bubble foaming

Before the true boil rang out

Voices escalating from the kitchen

Competing with the roar of utensils

I listened for a while

Attempting to gain understanding of the sides

and to place my bet

Then she stormed upstairs

and the battle ascended

As I shook my head in dismay

I begged you not to wake

the sleeping children and to stay low

with those of us who are used to it.

I tend to get loud like this when I get mad, I don't yell but I can certainly make the dishes and pots and pans ring out.......well penned!
