An Explination

An Explination

A Poem by ashleydawn

I look at the page upon page

where I've described you

And it's all so sad and dark

I envision a future publication

Scenes flash by

You read it and cry

We reconcile on Oprah

You don't open it at all

The press surrounds you

I stumble with explinations

You burn it

I don't want that for you

I don't want you to feel pain from this

I'm only documenting, not holding it against you

Just exploring, even elaborating at times

from the stories the world has told me

I can't have you look at this

without an explination

Just know this.

I love you,

and I'm sorry.
