Blocking

Blocking

A Poem by ashleydawn

Like a silent movie
I watch the scene go down
I've blocked all audio
in an attempt at privacy
Body language turns into
a means of communication
and understanding
I watch from my seat
as you block out the world
Not wishing to hear the advice, the help, the love
They get closer to you
Trying to pry resistance from your eyes
You stare into emptiness
Pleading for your old horror to come back
because at least you knew how
to work around that
Why don't you put down this act?
Stop trying to hate
that shade does not match your complexion well
If you would open even just one eye
and saw what we are trying to do
Maybe you'd understand
and grow
into something
More.
