Answered Prayers

Lord hear my cry

I'm lonely tonight

I fear the unknown

I want to let go

of these rules, these restrictions

Taking my foot off the brake

and begging to fly

This is too hard

too much work

for a girl like me

What was I thinking?

That I could actually do this?

Become like You? and Your son?

such a mistake on my part

Just one more that can be added

to the ever growing list

I've cried out for so long

without a reply

They said I should try some more

So I cried again

You took so long to reply 

That I'm beginning to think

Your secretary must have been away

But you timed it so right

So perfect that this night

Lord you heard my cry

and now I'm satisfied
