Revising

Revising

A Poem by ashleydawn

Our memories contain
Events, Images, Times past
That, at any moment,
we can all upon
We can seat ourselves in the situation
Immediately sending our minds back
to that moment
Where we can feel those emotions
All over again
We hold onto these pictures
because we aren't done with them yet
We're still searching
for something,
a small understanding
of whys and hows
that wasn't gained the first time.
But over-rehearsing the lines,
Will it help? Ever?
Or does the entire scene get re-done fictitiously
Over and abundantly?
We are stuck in a mode
of discontent
with ourselves

With what has been going on in my life lately, I can relate completely. Memories are revisited over and over again, and sometimes, the replay gets messed up. Thanks for the great poem! Love it. Added to my favorites.
