New Home, Same Enemies

New Home, Same Enemies

A Poem by ashleydawn

I came in innocent, naive
of the battle ahead
I was unaware and no one had told me
That apparently this was your domain
The alpha female had set her standards
and I had not been entered into the equation
Unfortunately, like I said
No one told me
I waltzed in, just acted out who I was
Without knowing it, I was a lot like you dear
You put myself on the outs with your group
and they welcomed me in
Alone, I accepted
Your presence isn't even here
But I feel it slowly
Squeezing, trapping me in
I can't live like this
There isn't room enough here
for the both of us
