Hiding the Pain

Hiding the Pain

A Poem by ashleydawn

My mask covers everything
The fake painted smile
Carefully put at an angle
that has been proved to induce happiness
I can sit here in a quiet pose
and not one would suspect
The parts inside are falling slowly
I feel as though I may need those parts in the future
but I can't help the fractures
I am unwillingly falling apart at the seams
I wish for the simple life
Something without trauma
or pain, racing thoughts
Those I could do without
Wishful thinking though,
Right ?
