A Poem by ashleydawn

 I shed my day clothes

And adorn the silk nightgown, hung off the lamp

The smooth material hugging

My adolescent, no yet so womanly curves

As I slip into the covers

Quietly, to not awaken the rest of the house

The aches and troubles of the day roll off me

Slowly relaxing my body, sinking me deeper

Until there is nothing left but my

Slow beating heart and my soul

Both pulsing, drawing me nearer

To a place only known to me in the deep of the night

Where the violins rise, and the waves

They ebb and they flow as a melody sings out sweetly, softly

The charcoal dirties my face as the portrait forms

Graphite mixing with the sweat on my fingertips

And the noise, oh it’s so loud there

But, I like it

It’s a beautiful mess of chaos

And only after making my nightly stop

May I sleep

ashleydawn
I think that this is different from a lot of stuff I've written in the past. A friend of mine told me to try and be more descriptive, so that's what I tried. Tell me what you guys think (:
