All For Your Enjoyment

All For Your Enjoyment

A Poem by ashleydawn

You know that saying

The one that says

Be careful what you wish for ?

I know you do

It's such a cliche

You never think twice

Until it happens to you

I was so stupid

Why would I wish for this ?

This pain, these tears

This gut wrenching pull

At the back of my throat

Those fiery words about to take aim

And let loose

Oh right, for this

These poems I write

In the dead of the night

When my tears are falling faster

Than my scribbling hand can go

I say this is beauty

These words that flow from pain

But that's all it really is

Pain.

Suffering.

Hurt.

All for your enjoyment.

This gut wrenching pull
At the back of my throat

I love these lines, I don't really even know why. The whole thing is so good, I specifically like how you structured it.

And, the last line is my absolute favorite, perfect title choice as well.
