Numb

Numb

A Poem by ashleydawn

During the day

I put a smile on my face

And swear that I'm all better

But when night comes around

And the lies wash away

I begin to relive it again

The tears start to flow

and my mind starts to spin

Soon I'm crashing down

All I can see are blurry shapes

Lonely thoughts that don't come together

But then it all stops

Disappearing as it came

The picture fades away

The numbness settles in

And I'm left with nothing

I'm alone again

I really enjoyed this piece. It was nice and simple, and in my opinion to the point. It seemed as if the piece was a downward spiral, at first everything seemed all right then slowly things got worse and worse and fell. I'm sure that many people can relate to this. Sorry, don't have anything constructive to say to you...

I really like how this poem takes you along to feel all of these emotions right after one another.
Nicely written, and very relatable.
