Inky Depths

Inky Depths

A Poem by Ashley
"

You reached into my mind and saved me

"

In the dark depths of my mind

In the black that blinds

Where flashes of light

And of hope, were rare

When a way out would appear

I’d struggle and put up a fight

To get out of the black

The inky poison always pulled me back

Tendrils of thought

That whispered to me

No one will believe your pleas

It had me caught

I almost gave up

Then you reached in

And with a grin

Showed me a way out

Stretched out your hand

Showed me a brand new land

My savior, without a doubt

Taught me ways

To push back the haze

Very few knew
Then I confessed
Now I feel blessed
All because of you
