Will you join meA Poem by Ashley4 poems, two pairs. Winter/Summer and Autumn/Winter. Someone asks if their friend will join them outside and wonders what they would do.If it snowed today Would you join me in the white? In the cool soft snow The one you’ve never seen
With muffled light And wrapped up tight Would you join me in the white? Would we play until Our clothes were soaked through And we felt the chill? Would we run until We could go no further Then go back and eat our fill? Would we throw snowballs until The snow was gone And we saw the daffodils?
If it snows today Will you join me in the white?
If the sun came out today Would you join me in the light? In the green fields Amongst cheery flowers
With skies that are bright And colourful kites Would you join me in the light? Would we play until We see the sunrise again And hear the birds trill? Would we run until The trees peter out And we are at the top of a hill? Would we laugh until The sun is gone And we’ve collected daffodils?
If the sun comes out today Will you join me in the light?
If the leaves fell today Would you join me in the golden rain? In the leaves Of red and orange
With frizzy manes And leaves covering the drains Would you join me in the golden rain? We could laugh at jokes, run around town Acting like clowns and jest Or play stupid contests We could bake nice food Like pumpkin pie Or watch a romance movie and sigh We could travel To faraway places And meet plenty of new faces
If the leaves fall today Will you join me in the golden rain?
If the flowers bloomed today Would you join me in the lane? The one with edges lined With bluebells and blackthorns
With grass stains And skies full of planes Would you join me in the lane? We could laugh as we Let time pass And fail at attempts of sass We could eat nice food Talk of old and new Until down comes the dew We could sit in the starlight As it twinkles white And just admire the sight If the flowers bloom today
