Fires Blazing

Fires Blazing

A Poem by Ashley Arita
"

A poem about fire and it's qualities.

"
Red, and hot
Like a chili pepper.
It's legs and arms dance to the sound of music,
which blazes across the sea.
It's yellow core, similar to the earth,
makes a sound of pure hatred,
Like a thundercloud roaring!

Moving to the beat,
the heat filled, sweaty music.
Eager to invite others to the sound it's listening to,
So it touches it's people.
The people dance too.
The beat of a hot filled cavern.

How exciting! How amazing!
There are now thousands of people!
Dancing to the same amazing beat,
of volcanos and running.
A huge party is here, standing it's point!
This is where the party is.

Suddenly, could it be?
The government forces?
The blue eyed people race over like roadrunners,
Their feet strong with vigor.
They run like a river, they jump like a waterfall!
Oh, how frightening!

We the people must get away,
We must be free!
We run, but we can't escape the amazing beat!
Of smoke and flames,
like a pot overflowing!

The blue eyes punch and kick us.
Slowly, we die.
We lose our beat, we lose our mind, we lose our life.
We are nothing more than the ground of the earth.
The gravel blows in the wind.
Like a mother letting go of her child...

This one is very slim with similes and metaphors. I don't know what this is actually. Tell me what you think. Is it descriptive or flat? Is it exciting or boring? What do you recommend for my next poem?

This was good! I love how it was so passionate and motivating where it says
"We the people must get away,
We must be free!"
But then, it gets very sad and the last line, "Like a mother letting go of her child..." This line really makes the poem very emotional.
From revolution to death, the battle in this poem is very beautiful.

Well the thoughts went to a music venue and a fire breaks out and all trying to escape as they die. Then again I see it as people escaping oppression like the refugees trying to escape the war in the middle east. Well done, no matter what.

A great poem and makes the reader think...control is no longer on the doorstep, it is in every corner of the room...at home or elsewhere...I perceived a mongering here of freedom is losing it's right of way each and every day...

Well I like the descriptive words...

I really like that. The story it tells and the images used were strong and powerful. The chilli pepper line hooked me and it was easy to imagine the sweaty heat and rhythm of the music. The final stanza was unexpected, shocking and sad.

What an incredible poem. You skillfully conveyed the ups and downs of the "fire blazing" in the poem. I'm not sure what message you wanted to convey with this poem, but that leaves the reader to interpret it as they wish which is the best part. Wonderful job!

A very interesting portrayal of the qualities and dangers of fire. The primal instinct to relate to it's properties is very well conveyed. There is an added dimension of mystique as the introduction of government forces create a tremendous sense of urgency and danger, as if the government is as treacherous and dangerous as an uncontrolled fire if the conditions permit it. A very good write. I enjoyed this one!

Kind of a sad beauty here in my opinion. Your very last line brings that sadness to light. Light, fire? Cleverness! Nice job!

Hello Ashley, I've heard of such a place, such a shame ain't it?
Perhaps if the people were lead properly who knows, maybe
Today we could have a mandatory 1 hour dancing to a beat law
That all should follow :-) to keep in shape of course :-) Your
Mind wanders in such wondrous places.
Very Cool, Thanks for the Add'
