Prologue

My family has a secret, and it's one that absolutely no one, not even my best friend can know about. My family is a family of blood-sucking, moon walking (not literally, or the Michael Jackson kind) vampires. Now don't get me wrong, it's not like we live in a creepy old mansion by a cemetery, or like we can't go out during the day. I mean, my little sister and I still go to school and have friends like everyone else. My parents have good paying jobs, and we all live fairly normal lives. Well, as normal as life can be when your a vampire. But not all vampires can go out in the day like we can, and my family has my grandmother to thank for that. My grandmother had come up with the idea of us wearing protective amulets to protect us from the sunlight during the day. So, with this my family is able to live a somewhat normal life, or at least that's what I had thought.
