Poetry FlowA Poem by AshleeKayannI really like this piece. The rhythm is fast paced. Think of it almost as spoken word. Comments please! :)A dimly lit room Is enough for me, For the one I ache for I cannot see. I’ll sit here for hours All quiet, alone. The pain I feel chills me Deep in my bones, And I know they tell me That love is blind, But my words are stuck Inside of my own mind And I can’t let go. Can’t go back, no, These words were Meant to be clearer But they’re starting to flow And I can’t stop Can’t breathe, Heart’s always been On my sleeve It’s a tattoo, And it bleeds for you. I never know what to do When it hits me, You left me, But you’re not really gone; This is love? It just feels like we’ve been waiting For so long. We’re stuck still, And we’ll be here awhile And it’ll only hurt better With every next mile. How can something so pure Bring out something so vile In me? It’s so easy to see There’s a monster inside, And I’m trying to hide But it’s getting through. It’s coming for you And I want you saved, I’m the one you should blame Because since you left Nothing’s been any different Or the same. Love, I can’t stop. My hands are so cold And I’m not sure how much longer I can do what I’m told And just wait here. Being alone is my worst fear And I live it right now. And I’m not sure how But I need you to see Clearly, hurry, And come home to me. © 2013 AshleeKayann |
