Hold my hand.

Hold my hand.

A Poem by Ashita Panda

Let me not dive into the ocean so deep,
Bottomless I presume?
But let me drown and let the magic seep,
Through my skin and lead me home;
Here, take my heart ! Guard it like a gnome!

Did I sound like Napoleon?
Oh well, I can see you smile.
That attractive curve mystically spawn;
Come get drowned with me, once a while,
Come walk with me another mile.

Let me admire those dreamy eyes.
Ah! Don't blush; those are mine.
Fingers entwined, strengthening ties,
Theories of happiness make things benign ;
Come walk with me, another time.

You put on your stethoscope,hear the beat;
"Fast", you say?
Oh future doctor, let me repeat,
It shall be this way as long as you stay;
Come hold my hand, if you may.

You rest your head on my shoulder so cold,
Jigsaws of affection surprisingly join together,
And with all my heart, thus I behold:
The warmth, without another 'if' or 'whether';
Let us climb these steps of life, one after another.

I do not know, how far we shall sail,
Amid the tides, high and low,
The ship might wreck, but let the love prevail:
Hold my hand as I swim against the flow;
Will you see with me, what life would show?
