Shoutout

Shoutout

A Poem by Morgan Ashire
"

This is my shout out to all of the people in this world who use others for personal gain, with no regard or respect for any form of life other than their own.

"

Now, why all this hate?

Why must you constantly discriminate?

How can you see me, being me,

Yet feign acceptance with hypocrisy,

Create another controversy,

And scream, "This is idiosyncrasy!"

Syncratic, yet dramatic.

Claiming movement, yet so static.

This is all a convolution.

It's an illusion. There is no solution.

Using all people for what you can gain,

I detect no respect and its driving me insane.

Give the respect and earn what you reap.

There is no honor in a world of deceit.

You are no soldier and you fight for no cause.

You fight for your addiction to people, but did you ever just stand there and pause

To think of the pain that burns in your wake?

When the finger's on you, oh, its a mistake.

Everyone's at fault, but you, and its burning.

You know the truth, but you're not concerning

Yourself with the details lit by your fire.

Your devotion to YOU is your only desire.

So remember that pain that burns in your wake.

Everyone knows it, but you. You're a fake.

This is a very powerful poem. You have a lot of potential to turn this into a verbal poem. The theme seems to be a trend these days and I hope that more people read this piece of work to realize that everyone needs to wake up and be kind to each other. You can never gain anything without the help of others, but it is not a take take situation. It's a give and recieve one.

Stopped by for an overview !

"""There is no honor in a world of deceit."""

Just thought I would point out my admiration yet again.

This lonesome sentence is rather loud for the few who speak it.
And for that, I shake your hand -
ricocheting off of their eyes to bring forth the greatness of words.
Considering the fact that too many look away,
[ maybe one day we will read minds :P ]

Hey now! I'm no... Oh wait. I was all caught up in this poem and forgot you weren't talking to me. This is very powerful stuff here. I know some folks say, "if you can't say anything nice, then say nothing at all." In my opinion, this is hypercritical crap spouted off by pansies who can't take criticism. I"m not saying be a d****e or anything, but it seems to me that the world would be better if folks told the truth. I think that as writers, we value our words and our freedom to use them, as well we should. I agree that words are powerful things and should be used carefully, but I think it's important to be truthful and not to be a hypocrite- a fake. I'll leave with something I've always taught: in all things, be honest and true. This poem certainly was that and was also a pleasure to read.

Hypocrisy is in everyone's pocket....it mostly seems it would be better if we said nothing at all!

Wow... I love this poem.
"Your devotion to YOU is your only desire.

So remember that pain that burns in your wake.

Everyone knows it, but you. You're a fake."
These lines would probably have to be my favorite of all...

I hate it when people hurt others, then hear from those brave people, but yet still don't give a damn about how they've done that person... Its pathetic how people can drag someone through the dirt... and not even look twice.

This is great! I'd love to hear it read out loud by the author or a performer with real passion. The constant rhymes are very well written and very emotive. They build up the pace well. If there's one line I'd change it would be:

'detect no respect and its driving me insane.' The 'insane' part of this doesn't seem to fit, in my view, with the really constructive language used elsewhere. But it still holds it's own as a fantastic poem.

Wow! Very powerful write! Can really feel the fed up frustration of it all. It's sad how true the words are, there are many in the world like that. Some roll with the punches, some disappear to recoup, others "shoutout" and a wonderfully blunt shout out it is! Filled with things that needed to be said, though not cruel, well done!

Definately adding this to my favs.
