Tree of HopeA Poem by Ashira MacyShe watched in childlike wonder As hope fell from the trees, Honeyed sanity swirling On a tender autumn breeze.
Most glittering and golden In the vanishing sunlight; Some still painted crimson No strangers to great plight.
They nestled in her hair Showering her with earthy grace. And as her fear melted away Humbled tears adorned her face.
She danced that night with nature Beneath the pumpkin harvest moon Her demons left un-slain, But the trees all whispered, “Soon.” © 2014 Ashira MacyAuthor's Note
