The first part reminded me of "10lbs of crazy in a 2lb bag" or however that expression goes.
While I like the line "death by chocolate" on its own - I don't see the correlation, unless what she is addicted to is food (I base that off of reading your responses to other reviews) but with limited food analogies that wouldn't be my first guess.
I think the ending confused me because it has some intense word choice, but at this point I haven't pinned down what you are being intense about.
It's funny. I was planning on this review being limited to "And heavily seasoned in
Introspective rage" is my favorite line, but once I started typing I started wondering about the overall meaning of the poem.
Then again, maybe I'm missing something
Well done as usual

Rose, I always enjoy your reviews, and I owe you a visit for sure, I promise I am coming around soon! I am not surprised that this one caused some confusion, in a way it was supposed to. I didn't call it Basket Case for no reason. This one actually has a lot of elements in it. The weights are in reference to measuring food. Death by chocolate was the most literal line in there, so it is good that you caught that. It is about food addiction, as well as trying to control it.
the first half i was sure you were talking about a 2year old :) .. but they are far to innocent to experience the last half .. your closing 4 lines are killers for me .. subjugation comes from so many places ... i am left with an inability to shake this trapped feeling ... that and empathy for the speaker who really needs to get some sleep ;)
love the song as well ..

In a way the mentality can almost revert back to that when feeling these kind of emotions. Thank you for your empathy my friend, it is greatly appreciated!
I guess I know how I was born. I'm kidding, but totally related to what you were saying. Maybe cause I feel crazy so this obviously ( the title , then the read ) jumped out and got my attention. Very cool ! Good read !

Thanks so much for relating, glad it caught your eye!
The association of subtance and how we react to it. It is quite the relation hey? To think my first reaction was Ashira is endorsing Cocaine sighs! as a viable form of fun, that gets to show my state of mind. I also find interesting the fact that there seems to be a relationship in between sugar and adrenaline and subsequent rage. A little tinge of melancholy though as it is all subject to subjugation. It is the tiredness that comes from been awake for so long I guess.....
Thankyou

It could be one great answer to the popular question 'Tell me about yourself?', alas can not be used during interviews. Enjoyed going through it :) Thanks for inviting.
