9/11 Repercussion

9/11 Repercussion

A Poem by Ashira Macy
"

This is mildly satirical and political, so if you are offended by those sorts of things then this is not for you.

"

I realized far too late today

That thirteen years back

Tragedy knocked our morals

Right off of sanity’s track.

Those planes crashed down

With vicious, calculated vigor.

War already on the brink,

All they did was pull the trigger.

For years we took a moment

To stop and honor them

Those thousands of lives cut short,

In a moment were condemned.

We must remember history

Lest it repeat again,

So tell me why we forgot our grief

But continue to pretend.

These battles that we fight

No longer count as self defense

And though we voted Bush in twice

We really aren't that dense.

So let’s try a new way to honor our dead

And bring our troops back home instead.

Not your ''absolute best work'', as you say, but definitely an inspired one that resonates truth. And one that stirs ideas and goes against the mainstream wind if you will. I admire that.

''Those planes crashed down, With vicious, calculated vigor.''

Calculated.
Well done.

A moving and beautiful tribute to those that lost their lives that day...and for the ones who have to live with the lose day after day.

Yes it would be great if we could bring our troops home, I for one had stopped looking at the names, to many did I know.
But this is a war we did not ask for and the ones who started it will never give up.
So we are in an endless war because of the actions of a few animals.
I don't know how much more we can stand to give, but I do know that this war may never end.

As a soldier I salute you Ashira Macy, you have a good heart. All I can ask is (and I know you will) to stay strong in the coming days. We will need the strength of your writings to help us through.

Thank you so much Micky. It is comforting to know that people from other countries empathize. =)
We felt it along with you guys from across the border. I think most of the world froze for a good long time.

Your government needs to come out in the open. I think this is the simplest answer I have come across to all the conspiracy theories. Since the emotional empowers the technical aspects of this poem, I will not delve into details farther than the flow which was strong with the strong imagery.
Good write.

Thanks Stonz, the emotional often overpowers the technical in my work. =)
i have also felt the need to write about that day...back then, and now.

i almost see the second stanza as a poem by itself.
