Of Mimsy and Borogroves

Of Mimsy and Borogroves

A Poem by Ashira Macy

He appeared to me in his strange way,

Leading with that disconcerting smile,

A maniacal laugh parting his half-moon fangs.

He spoke in layered riddles

That would make a sphinx blush,

Babbling of Queens and Their ways.

Singing a song of mimsy and borogroves

With those taunting, tenor tones and cleft eyes

Gleaming as he faded to air once again.

i think you should be galumphing with joy for such a dark and delightful piece .. half moon fangs ..eeeeeyow! those are some big incisors .. i thoroughly enjoyed all of this poem .. its concise, deliberate, and packed with dramatic images to my mind ... and always, with Drac .. there is a hint of sensuality by his very nature .. he faded to air without any mention of the speakers fate!!??? so i presume she was somehow granted a reprieve for the time being ;) nice one says i!

I liked the poem. The words danced and create pleasure visions and characters. Very nice use of words. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

You're welcome.
Very interesting piece this is. Remind me not to travel to where ever this is. I don't think I'd like this creature up close. Though from afar I do enjoy the darkness!

You don't want to take a trip to Wonderland? That is probably best, nothing there is as it seems. =3

Thank you dear!
It is mysterious and intriguing. I was thinking of vampires for some reason as I was reading.

A lot of people thought of Dracula. I think it was the talk of fangs that did it.
Dark and mysterious, maybe even foreboding...

Oh, I certainly did enjoy! Wit and whimsy, referencing a classic and giving it your own spin. Well crafted poem, Ashira!
