Bleeding Poetry

Bleeding Poetry

A Poem by Ashira Macy
"

Because blood isn't enough.

"

It’s nights like this -

All silent and serene,

That my mind shrieks

As I bleed rivers of poetry.

Words rip at my wrists

From the inside, outward

Like jagged pieces of a broken mirror,

Shattered by my tortured soprano.

Rhymes burn through me,

Acid flowing through my veins

As rhythmic tears stream down

Agony scorched cheeks.

Prose propels needle

After toxin tipped needle

Through each and every nerve,

Jolting twinge to each transition.

Then… the punctuation clots

With a sudden burst of sympathy,

And as the pain ebbs away

I can relish in numb rapture.

Thank you for being so honest with us as readers about what it means to you to be a poet. Thank you for capturing the true essence of what writing is to you and just how important it is to you and all who come across your words. I think this is a beautiful piece and it leaves an impact quite unlike any other. The word choice is absolutely stunning and the way your voice shines through every word is absolutely stunning. The flow is spot on and the style (as simple as it was) definitely kept the piece in tact. Great job.

So relatable and honest, not only do you use imagery in such an awesome way- it's always so unique and unlike anything I have ever seen. Very cool!

3rd verse is my favorite stanza.. plus a strong ending carries this poem's intense heaviness ..

great piece of work here with a killer title !!

Aw thank you dear. Definitely written with fellow writers in mind. So glad you liked it!
Brilliant thoughts: "Rhymes burn through me,
Acid flowing through my veins
As rhythmic tears stream down
Agony scorched cheeks."

The poem`s well written & what the thing made the write very beautiful & heartfelt reading`s the "title" which`s just well organized the ink of your words. Yeah, the red imprints made the write very impressive. It`s seemed that the write`s written by the delicious blood of yous dripped down from the fragile wrists of yous on the hearts of love. The thoughts`re came from a barren world.. stemming from your regretted wild past nights. Nice imagery.

Boy, you sure touched a nerve with this one my friend :) But this is so relateable to so many of us, and I'm definitely no exception...most of my best stuff gets written after midnight, with a body that desperately wants to sleep but gets overruled unequivocally by a discombobulated mind...I originally intended to cite the third stanza as the one that spoke to me the deepest, but by the time I got to the end I realized that I could not give precedence to any one part over the other...every stanza has elements that resonate with me, and make me feel like someone out there actually knows how I feel...splendid work Ashira, thanks for sharing this one :)
