What If...?

What if I can't?

What if… I am just not cut out to be

All those things that you expect of me?

 

What if… I fall into that endless abyss,

Or I jump in, unable to continue this?

 

What if… I already reached my forte,

Audience cleared out, nothing more to say?

 

What if… my candle burned down too fast,

Confident light fading into the past?

 

What if… I fail and let you down once more?

What could a disappointment like me be good for?

We tend to let other people's opinion of us sway the way we looked at ourselves and our peace of mind. I think this happens more often when one is young, as you grow older, you realize their opinion doesn't really matter and you can't live up to everyone's expectations. We are good enough just as we are. Let's stop mentally assessing our self worth in the eyes of others... ahh Ashira, but you can and will!

who can not relate .. my mind was plugging all kinds of circumstance this relates to ... what a tragic ending line .. if this were about you (though we have barely met) i would say your good for me ;) i especially think you have given voice for a lot of young people struggling to grow .. nice job says i!
