Inspiration Infatuation

Torn between lustful infatuation

And fearful of your intimidation

Your intellect sets my logic on fire.

 

Exploring my brain for rhyme or reason,

Longing for concrete, set explanation,

It only increases psychic desire

 

To caress your wondrous mental physique,

Bask in that sensual rhythmic technique…

Cognitive trap for emotional pyre.

 

Come now, virtuoso I’ll stoke that flame!

Visionary wildfire’s nowhere near tame,

As it shan’t until I finally tire

 

Of your dazzling, frightening intellect

To withdraw to solitude’s introspect,

But for now I’ll survey, merely… admire.

I love this poem. The rhyming scheme is tight and adds nice rhythm, pace and energy.
'Your intellect sets my logic on fire.' - I love this line.

And articulating a passion that is directed at a person's mental rather than physical being is unusual, and therefore fresh and thought-provoking!

I'm edging into TMI territory here, but there is nothing hotter than a woman that would just sit at my side and read poetry to me...ha I'm a geek but I don't give a rat's a*s...I am nowhere near as intimidated by the female brain as the female form...rhythmic 'technique'...that image alone has the hairs on the back of my neck coming to life...you are definitely speaking my language here, literally and figuratively...LOVE this one :)

Haha, since we are all poets who share our most personal thoughts and feelings through our work there is no such thing as TMI on here, at least I don't think there is. Ashira always takes me on an unforseen journey , this time I was taken candidly as she does to a place where intellect shines with beauty and those rays infatuate her into fiery logic. Now I am no expert of human behaviour quite the contrary but isn't that similar to turning you on? Or is it just me? Then she shifts to psychic and then emotional. So he basically have you "by the balls" never has this expression been more out of place but all the same here is the part I like as you are saying you want to relate to him as whatever stoking may require. You will have to interact. And then only to pull back? Don't be a let down women! Go on and try to find out what is it that sets you on fire. Then of course share it here...

Setting logic on fire that is what spiritual love is meant for. Its not just cupid's arrow that will hit you but the wisdom of Athena will be bestowed when you discuss.I can really connect to it because there is someone who carresses my mind and sets my thoughts on fire. This is an extremely different way to portray that admiration we have for someone. We look at them with awe. Hope your mind is kissed and carressed girl. Brilliant!!
