End

End

A Poem by Ashira Macy

There goes my mind again

Remembering what it feels like to kiss you.

Dishonest are these visions!

I have felt you but twice and passion is fleeting.

There is a world to be missed,

There is a vast universe to be gained.

Those two last line add much depth to the atmosphere you render here:

There is a world to be missed,
There is a vast universe to be gained.

--- in the lines...the rest is the filler...of what was in the scheme of things...yet there is only one world as we know it...in finding...so stay grounded and just go fishing for one...

I like the poem. Showing regret in the words and led the reader to some hope. The memory is a two sided coin. Make us wish for things we cannot have. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

You are welcome. You did very well with the minimum use of words.

I like your verbal depiction of this tug-o-war, "...There is a world to be missed,
There is a vast universe to be gained..."

Which way do we go? Aging away and living in mouldy memories? But no. We wake up, shake loose the spiderweb tendrils of past endings, and strike out to experience the promising future.

Lol! And sometimes it DOES feel like trudging, I agree :)
sometimes there are worlds of love we just don't belong to, we just can't mesh with...
we have the memories yes, but there is much more to explore outside that relationship...

passion is definitely ephemeral.

Ah yes, love can definatley be a b****. It is heartbreaking when it ends, go through lots of turmoil. but in the end we grow stronger, knowledgeable, and hopefully ready to see what else (or who else) will come into our lives. *hug*

It most definitely will!
The end is tough but I love your ending, a bit of hope in the knowledge that there's a whole universe out there of other experiences.
Good write Ashira.
