Reminiscing

Reminiscing

A Poem by Ashley Sarratt

I didn't want to think back
to the woods where I was kept
where my courage was engulfed in black
where you watched me as I wept

The wheels on the bus I remember singing
just hours before I was grabbed
on the playground where I was swinging
before you lay still, stabbed

I watched your body before I left
waiting for your movements to still
that night was the best I slept
in all of October still

A nice start, but I want to know both what happens next and the backstory! :)
Well done.
