A Poem by ghost
"

"you could beat me within an inch of my life, and i'd still love you"

"
the more i think about it, the more i'm sure that we weren't meant to be together forever
we were met to meet eyes from across the room
to exchange awkward first-hellos
to text each other excitedly at night and during class
to go on a first date and hold hands
to have a first kiss in your jeep and
you were meant to take my virginity
we were meant to say "i love you" too early
to fight, and make up, and fight again
to cry
and break up
and get back together
to be so scared and unsure and young
to be jealous and guilty
to see beautiful things
to get high and make out
to go on long drives
to eat the same food every week
and watch the same shows
to fall madly in love
and to never want to fall out of it
but we weren't meant to move in together
we weren't meant to buy furniture or
get a shared netflix account
we will never get married,
or have kids that have my hair and your eyes
in a house in the country
where you can have your trucks and i can have my dreams
we were meant to be temporary
i don't regret it, and i'm not sorry
we were meant to be together
we just weren't meant to be forever
