He Takes Everyone

He Takes Everyone

A Poem by Ashes

He takes everyone

Does not matter your race

Your size

Your health

He takes every soul someday

Death does not discriminate

He does not know love or hate

Death’s only job is to end one’s fate

He takes everyone

On his own time

You can be 5

Or 105

He will take you when he wants to.

Death cannot see your age

That’s not written on any page

Death’s desire is his only gage

He takes everyone

And you do not have a say

Of when he takes you

Maybe you might influence

But it is not truly your call

Death is not impacted by your cries

Of wishing to no longer be alive

Death makes the rules and you must oblige

He takes everyone

And you do not get to choose

Who will leave before you.

You can beg all you want

He never listens.

Death will listen to your pleas

Even watch you fall to your knees

Death will still take the soul you beg he leaves

He takes everyone

And the people left behind

Will never be the same

Because taking someone from the world

Doesn’t take them from the hearts of others.

Death does not care about your sorrow

Or that you will hurt on every “tomorrow”

Death picked that soul now, and he does not borrow

On the other hand, maybe death is just a humble doorman with a bad reputation.
