Butterfly

Butterfly

A Poem by Ashes
"

I don't want to call this a response to a poem per-say, but it was inspired by a poem my friend wrote

"
The beautiful butterfly
Flew freely on her wrist
But not anymore
Now she's grounded
Trying to heal
The wings are slashed
The body broken
Slices everywhere
"Don't hurt me!"
The butterfly cries
"Don't hurt the butterfly"
She whispers
But does a blade know how to stop?

This is beautiful! It captures the pain of trying to quit cutting perfectly.

Your poem was a big motivator for this. Thank you!
This is very different than anything I've ever read about cutting and butterflies. This piece is so unique, and it simply expresses what is said. Beautiful, great job.
