Stay

Stay

A Poem by Ashepete
"

Hope enlivened

"
A loner I was,
Lived life like a mule,
Outcast and criticized.

Heavy heart,
Cussing my curse,
Lamenting my mishap.

Hope gone,
Living life,
Because I had to.

Then you sparked me,
Lit a fire,
Now hard to put out.

You judged not,
You acted on genuine,
And drew me close.

Light shedded,
And a grin showed,
Life simmered.

Don't leave now,
Sorry I can't give enough,
I'm paying for the misfortune.

Stay,
I've given all my feelings away before,
But I'm willing to spend the rest saved.

Stay,
I'll not only smile,
I'll laugh now.

Stay,
Build the walls,
The walls of my hope.

Stay,
Because you earned my trust,
Stay for not judging.
