People always say… there’s always the good and the bad memories…

 

But with you… I don’t have any bad memories.

Not a single one.

 

Everytime we were together, every second spent together constitutes a good memory.

Even the rough times we had to go through seemed ok when we had each other

 

Together we were truly invincible.

We said it many times, we felt it, we knew it was true

 

You died exactly one year ago.

And instead of spending the worst day of my life, as I expected,

Instead of reliving the horrors of that fateful day…

 

I’m contemplating what my life would be now if you hadn't passed away.

You’d be speaking fluent French

Gaby would be speaking fluent English

You’d still refuse to correct my accent

So I’d be the only one left with a perfect English with a horrible French accent!

I’d probably be pregnant

I think we’d be looking for a house to buy together

Gaby would have been calling you daddy for months

We would be on the verge of celebrating the first time we met for real

And we’d be preparing for our wedding

We got engaged via MSN remember? J

That’s the kind of normal things I think we'd be doing

We’d be planning a BBQ for all our friends

Or a quiet night home watching a cartoon with Gaby,

All snuggled up on the couch

 

You were the one person who made me realize that what I thought was most important in life

Wasn’t

That if I didn’t become the writer I’d always wanted to be…

I’d be a failure.

You were the one person who made me realize I only needed your love,

And nothing else.

First of all I would liket to say I am sorry to hear of your significant s passsing... and this is awesome! I don t know if you were writing much when he was alive but in some strange way his passing has caused you to pursue this further and you are good with words indeed....:)
