Big and violent

Big and violent

A Poem by Ashentara

All those years I was trying to feel something more than life

Do you do it on purpose?

What am I, a slave to your creations?

A groupie with no pride or self-esteem?

I’d like to think I’m more than that

I’m usually thought of as a mature person,

Passionate, check

Intense, check

But responsible and mature, double check.

So how come your words can overcome me like that

Make me feel emotions I thought I didn’t have in me

Things so deeply hidden that I’d forgotten about them

Things I didn’t even know I could feel

You awaken so many feelings in me

Sometimes it’s painful

Silver hand reaching for my bleeding heart

Caressing my soul

“When you’re not feeling ugly…

Take the world upon your shoulders”

Another meaningless rant

Once again I let my heart and soul take control of my fingers

And let them type whatever they wanted

Everybody has their demons

Mine are always urging me to write, write, write, cry, scream, die
