Stargazing

Stargazing

A Poem by Ashe
"

This is for someone I think is special. And he knows who he is. This poem is based off of a dream I had. Hope it's good enough.

"
A beautiful man lay beside me,
observing my scars and curves.
with careful curiosity,
Like how I look at the stars
and constellations.

Stargazing with you
is more than just the moon
the stars, making constellations
and the night sky above us.

It is you drawing those same stars
and constellations
with the moon,
over my scars in hope,
hope that I will love myself.

You look at me,
And see the stars.
But when I look at me,
I see a rose bush.
Full with thorns to protect itself.

Except those thorns
are wrapped around my thighs,
my hips,
my stomach,
my chest,
my neck,
and my arms.

Those thorns
are also wrapped around
my heart
and my mind
But you wouldn't truly understand,
cause it never happened to you.

But stargazing with you,
I feel those thorny vines
loosen a little more
when you do something
that makes me trust you
a little more.

But despite that
something tells me
not to trust you.
But what if it's just fear,
fear of being hurt
physically, emotionally
again?

But when we're stargazing;
I crave your love and comfort,
But on my own conditions.
Will you do that for me?
Beneath the stars,
Or maybe beneath the covers?

Will you comfort me
with your love,
and your respect
for what I do not want?
