ReunionA Story by AshGreyTwo best friends were seperated from each other when they were little. This story tells of their reunion.
I looked around myself as I was swept out of the station along with the crowd. The building needed some serious repairing. The management was probably turning a blind eye to the beggars at the steps crying out for a few chinks. I seperated myself from the crowd and headed towards the taxis parked outside. I asked to be taken to the Nevdanagar Post Office. When I inquired at the Post Office, they gave me an address and I knew nothing could stop me now. I got in the taxi and read out the address to the driver who muttered something in Kannada and took off at a fast pace. Within minutes, I was standing at the door of the Sumer Residence. I rang the doorbell. So many things were running in my head that I barely noticed when the door opened. A boy in his twenties stood gaping at me.
"Sadvin?" I smiled. He looked baffled for a moment but nodded. I couldn't stop grinning. "Meena? Is she there?" I asked. He again nodded, slowly this time and called out inside the house, "Didi!" then he shouted something in Kannada which was way beyond my understanding. Sadvin looked at me and beckoned me inside. As I was stepping inside, a girl of my age came hurrying from a passage. Her eyes caught mine and she stopped. "Oh my God. Look at you." The next thing I knew, we were both in each other's arms, crying and laughing at the same time. "It's been so many years...". Sadvin stood there watching us with a puzzled look. A woman entered the room through the passage, stopped, looked surprised and smiled at me in recognition. She said something to Sadvin and he laughed. They had remembered. © 2015 AshGreyAuthor's Note
