From Heart's AssaultA Poem by AsderathosI watched "Awake" the movie, & came away depressed but started writing about (as usual) how uninspired I've been, The 2nd just started as a description of the first.

FROM HEART'S ASSAULT I want to create beauty But i cannot see it anymore It shines through me Not off me as it once did Is a mirror inspired? How can it reflect anything in darkness But darkness I can feel the tarnish in my skin A barnacle of ache so ingrained That the words heart and soul leave only bitterness And in writings' usual catharsis Even that relief is restrained Until I breathe cool air And hear the strumming of an old guitar As music saves, Even as with apathy's contrast Creates the cure 4-14-2010 216 ___________________________________________ ORIGINALLY ONLY A DESCRIPTION I lived in my own mind, My own hypocrisy of betrayed Philosophy, Viewing "Awake" and seeing the flaws of hyperbole epitomized portrayals, Extolled while taking to heart a message of doomed life; A blessing ignored for its mere circumstance Whilst I still now typing cannot refill the cup of void Miracle's perception an appreciation In the end the cycle itself shall be the cure; Not Lion King, nor Emo's dream, But specifically the nature of emotions. 4-14-2010 217 _______________________________________________ © 2010 AsderathosAuthor's Note
