GREY CLAUSTROPHOBIA

Striking in the way a wisp of smoke
Stands against fog a-mist
Amongst an ocean of people
Trudging on black rivers
Paved with stone and painted with water
Surrounded by towers casting shadows
A night not yet approaching
Reached all the same
Through light grey clouds too low
Mingled with breathes before
They fly over the heads of breathers
Trapped under sinking skies
Drowning in Grey mid day, night
Wishing hoping praying for sun
Street lamp, flash light, candle, spark
Only cinders and a single cigarette’s glow
