INNOCENT HONOR

You destroy a world

With a word

Saying it never was

When it still is

In the dreams and minds of men

Screaming for that hard sought honor

And all that once if ever was

Is in the songs and films

The gestures, mannerisms

Looks and tears

Smiles and fears

An innocent age of war

Of bluer skies so pure

Moonlit dances

And swing set romances

Dames and dolls

Fella’s tall

Sing a love song

Of longing hearts

Of gazing eyes

Of kissing lips

In porch light

Lost to you

But not to me

That world's alive

I remember

I see

I really liked that. The rhyming happened in the best places. A really good read.
